Summer Days

Do you ever wake up in the morning and have to lay in bed trying to figure out what day it is?? I think I do that several times a week. Without having school the days seem to blend into each other. Even though it is summer I am still waking up around 545am since the sun shines horribly into my room. I think my blind is broken and allows a sliver of sunlight to hit me right in the eye each morning. I am planning on going to Lowes tomorrow to get more blind kits for that window. Another reason I am unable to sleep in is the never fail alarm clock of Blake. He lays in bed calling out "Mom" over and over until I come and get him. I looked at Blake the other day and noticed how big he is getting. For someone who doesn't seem to swallow food he is sure growing. He will sit for hours with food in his mouth and never swallow. He is also in a hat phase. He loves wearing hats at home and usually it is Scott's cowboy hat. I wish I could find one in his size.

We have been spending our days inside the house and at the Rob's swimming pool. Right now we have been avoiding driving since gas is now at $4.00. Ben is again reading the DK reader books (I wouldn't even read those) about Mummies, Money, Reptiles, and other Non-Fiction books. He must get the love of reading Non-Fiction from Scott since I can't stand that. He will also watch National Geographic and the Travel Channel for hours. The kid is a walking information book. I have also been trying to get him to enter the primary talent show in a few weeks to show off his unusual talent of squeeking his ear. Very weird.

Madison had her Gymnastic tryout this week and was again invited to be on the performing team, Junior Flips, but was also invited to be in 2 more special groups: Twisters and Dance Energy. She was 1 of 8 (out of 70) to be invited to the special groups. Where she gets that talent I do not know. Megan is also practicing already to make the team next year. Madison also decided Friday night that she had enough of her long hair and needed a cut. So while we were at Tiffany's on Saturday she went to the salon where Tiffany works and had a 'professional' cut. For the past day all I have heard is "smell my hair- it smells soooo good", "no one will recognize me", "run your fingers in my hair".... Tiffany had it fixed all cute, but a day later is what the pictures show.

Scott was busy while the kids and I were gone yesterday. The pantry is now closed in. I think it is looking great.

Madison and all your kids always look so adorable and I think it's neat Ben has such a keen interest in so many things, even if they are "boy" things. The pantry looks great! And I still usually don't know what day it is!
