Wednesday was a lazy day, Jennifer and Scott went to work while the kids and I stayed at home playing. Thursday Jennifer took us to see Disney on Ice and the Denver Coliseum. We all loved the ice skating show. It was 100 years of Disney Magic so most of there characters were displayed. Scott arrived Thursday night after dinner to join our vacation after his last day at Intel.
Jennifer took us to Hammonds Candy Factory on Friday for a tour. Not so much a tour, but looking through a window with 25 other people and looking at the backs of machines. It was interesting and we did get to see the 'candy' get pulled on a machine. After the tour we went into the store and the kids each picked out a candy or two to buy. Without saying how much I spent I will just say I could have bought all the candy at Target for less money. Blake picked out a chocolate Easter bunny that was 2.5 inches tall (no price tags on any of the candy- guess that was the clue of the price tag) and it rang up for $11.00. Guess that is the price of homemade. After we bought the candy and tasted it, no one was really impressed. I will stick to the bigger chocolate bunnies at Target that are $1.00.
Friday night we drove up to Scott's mother's house in the mountains so we could enjoy the snow on Saturday. It was even colder in the mountains, makes sense, and there was plenty of snow for the kids to play in. Jennifer and I went shopping while the Scott's and the kids played in the hot tub and snow. Saturday we went to a great sledding hill and spent a few hours sledding. The kids had a great time, this was the first time we really went sledding. Blake was a little nervous at first but after his first time down the hill he wanted to keep going. During one of Grace's turns she fell into the twig pile that should have been covered in snow to stop the sledders. That was the end of Grace's turn. Ben got a little daring and started sledding by the jumps. During one of his rides he got about 2 feet in the air. The next time down he flew into the air again and let go of his sled- an unhappy fall resulted. After that we were pretty much ready to head back to Denver. Jen actually lives in Lochbuie. Lochbuie used to be named Space City. I wish they hadn't changed the name, how many people can say that they live in Space City? A classic, unforgettable name.
Monday night we arrived back home to warmer weather. It has been 85 degrees here this week, and yesterday Jen sent me a picture of her backyard covered in a foot of snow. Go figure.
