We just got back from our summer vacation. We drove (yes, we are a little crazy) to Wisconsin for the Ensign family reunion. We left Friday, June 29th at 7am. Surprisingly we got out of the door on time and everyone was happy. The first day of the drive we were going to Amarillo, TX. A mere 700 miles away, plus we would be losing 2 hours due to time zone changes. So that meant we didn't make it to Amarillo until 9:30pm that night. Macy did really great in the car- I don't think she knew what was going on. The second day of the drive was to Olathe (Kansas City), Kansas only 600 miles away. It was one of the hottest days of the summer, and around 10am Scott and I noticed that the car air conditioning was no longer cold. For 2.5 hours as we drove to Oklahoma City we sweated it out and called all the mechanics along the way to see if we could get out air fixed that day. Everyone said 'no'. Luckily after we stopped for lunch and got back in the car and the air conditioning was suddenly working again. Thankfully. Scott picked a great place to have dinner that night, Oklahoma Joe's BBQ. It had been featured on a TV show as one of the best BBQ places ever so Scott had to try it out. A lot of other people had that same idea because we waited in line for 45 minutes before we got our food. It really was good- best I have had, and I don't usually like BBQ.
Sunday morning we woke up and headed to Nauvoo, IL just 5 hours away. It was nice to have a short drive that day.
