Okay, so I am a few hours early on that but I am still amazed. The time has passed so quickly. I still remember the day I went to the hospital and there she was in the Critical Care Unit of the NICU with a tube going into her head. I am glad she doesn't remember that. Or the times when she gets a new teacher with school or church and she gets that nervous look about her eyes. Tonight she had that nervous look again when she went to the mall to get her ears pierced. I think we (Madison and I) were both surprised when Scott said that Madison could get her ears pierced now that she would be 8. Madison thought about it for a day, then said that she would like to go on Friday (before Saturday's party) to get it done. We went to Claire's at the Mall after dinner. Madison was calm until we entered the store and she sat in the chair. She started shaking a bit so the lady offered her a sucker. That helped a bit, but her legs were still swinging around. The piercer marked the area with purple marker, and while Madison was still thinking about that she quick and did the first one and then the second one. Madison was finished before she really knew she was done. She said that it only hurt for a moment. She was a little worried again when I went to turn the earrings for her later on- but very glad that it didn't hurt.
I have many favorite memories of Madison. From her singing in the car and at home with her IPOD, Hearing tons of praise from all of her teachers, Helping out with her classes and soccer teams, and her broken arm. She is always a joy to have around. She looks forward to Scott going out of town so that she can take her space on our bed. I see so much of myself in her. We all love Madison.
