Christmas Fun

Well Christmas has once again passed. Madison was the first child awake this Christmas- waking up at 5am, followed by Blake at 6am, Megan at 630, and Ben at 645. Scott tried to sleep as long as he could- waiting until almost 7am. Since the kids were in our room as they woke up he covered his head with the blankets and moaned for about an hour. Scott then did the annual tradition of going downstairs to turn on the lights and tell the kids that Santa didn't come this year (a tradition from my parents); of course the kids knew better. We went downstairs and saw the gifts that Santa left. It is interesting how quick it goes. I timed it this year, and the kids were ready to open presents after 20 minutes. Ben got legos and beef jerky, Madison legos and a pedicure giftcard, Megan a kitchen and puzzle, and Blake received a book and a few small toys. I got avocados, peanut m&m's, and an avocado slicer. We then opened presents. I am glad to say it took an hour and a half to get through them since we were not moving too quickly. Ben's favorite present was new flip flops and the Suns Jersey (Nash) that was for all the kids, Megan's was the books and games, Madison really enjoyed her new flip flops and clothes. Blake didn't really pay too much attention to his gifts- I am sure that will change in the coming years. I got new mixing bowls, a lazy susan, calendars, and a printed out journal. The most favorite gift of all was the Wii that I surprised everyone with. Madison was very excited by that- as was Scott. Overall, a great Christmas. My Mom and Dad, and I were all able to speak with Karl for a few minutes. It was great to talk with him and I am looking forward to seeing him soon. Jennifer was able to take Karl his presents and visit him in person this past week. I am jealous that she was able to do that. We then went to Scott's parents house for a light lunch. Blake was so excited to be able to go outside since he got a pair of crocs for Christmas. He was happy as can be while outside (even though it was cold and windy). My perfect holiday would involve not going to anyone's house, or having anyone over- maybe it will happen one day. After we opened presents at Marita and Bernie's we came back home for a big dinner with Dot and Boyd's family. It was nice having everyone over and visiting with my cousins. Jeanna and her husband Jason were back from their honeymoon and had come over with Dot. Food was great, family was great= great holiday. Then Christmas was over but the mess kept on giving.
