Leah's Wedding

My cousin Leah was married this past Saturday (Dec. 29). My Dad was kind enough to allow me to tag along (for free). He used some of his frequent flier miles to buy me a first class ticket to Dallas- I would have to sit in coach on the way back. We left early Friday morning, and it was so cold. It was only 29 degrees in Phoenix. The flight over was great. First class is the way to go. We got lost in Fort Worth on the way to Meredith's house, but thankfully a few phone calls later we were able to get to Meredith's. Only- Chaos. We left pretty quickly since no adults were home and went to find the hotel- and get lost again- and have lunch. The hotel room was very large and nice.

We got back to Meredith's and spent some time chatting with Eden and Bill, Pyper, Grandma, and Lyric and her fiance Keith. When Meredith arrived home we loaded up the cars and went to the church to set up. Set up was initially going slow and was frustrating. When I couldn't get answers from Meredith I decided to take it into my own hands and begin setting things up the way I would have put them. Luckily, everyone liked my idea's so we could move on to dinner. Eden had bought all the stuff for a baked potato bar that had 18 toppings. She also bought a lovely fruit bouquet for dessert.

Saturday morning was the wedding in the Dallas temple. It was still so cold outside and very windy. The ceremony only lasted 6 minutes- very quick. We then went outside to wait in the cold for pictures. I think we were just about the last pictures and then we went to lunch at a BBQ place. Now, I don't normally like BBQ- but I don't know many places that offer turkey and ham; so the food wasn't bad. We killed some time finding a few picture frames for the wedding and I made a mat out of poster board (use what works and what is very cheap). Then came the reception. I helped out with the food table throughout the evening. The food was: pizza, rootbeer, cupcakes, and a ranch fountain-- very gross. Soon it was all over. Take down went fairly quickly and good thing too since Dad and I had to get up at 3:30am to make our flight home to Phoenix. My Dad was once again able to upgrade me to first class for the ride home. I have a great life! All too soon we were back home after our quick weekend away. Home in time for my Mom's birthday and Blake having strep throat. Good times.
