MLK 2008

Since everyone was off school today for the MLK holiday, my Mom and I decided to take the kids to a movie. We went and saw Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. And that is basically the whole movie. I am not sure why a movie that is only 80 minutes long felt longer then National Treasure II which was 140 minutes long. Blake did okay for the first half of the movie. I am sure his behavior in the second half aided in the feeling that the movie wouldn't end. After the movie we ordered Wendy's for a late lunch and drove to Desert Breeze park in Chandler. The park was huge. We found a sunny spot to eat lunch and then let the kids play. I think they had a great time, but my Mom and I were going crazy trying to keep an eye on all the kids. The park was very crowded- kids and people everywhere. We decided to ride the train after about 20 minutes of play just to get the kids away from the craziness. The train was fun, but I think most of us wished we had our jackets on.
