State Fair

We once again made our annual trip to the state fair today. We just can't win- weather wise. Last year we froze and the kids complained about how cold it was. This year it was 95 degrees and we were sweating. How about a nice middle of the road temperature of 80?? It is November after all. Megan and Madison each danced and tumbled to 2 songs. Madison performed her back tuck (backward somersault in the air) for the first time. Knowing that she was going to do that made me a little uneasy thinking about what could go wrong the first time. But Madison did great and could only talk about how high she was on her jump. We also had to watch the video of her trick right when we came home.

After the performance we walked around the art exhibit and cooking exhibit before leaving. Ben had asked for an ice cream cone- which wasn't a horrible request just $4.00. But after talking about various prices and what you could buy/get for the money, we headed to Costco. After adding up that everyone had a hot dog, drink, and ice cream at Costco for $15.00 Megan said the fair prices were a rip off. Have to agree. Luckily today was free fair admission with a donation of deodorant so we only paid for parking. Megan is looking forward to next year, while Madison will enjoy watching from the audience. She is hoping to make Jr. High pom or cheer. Would guess that she would make the team. Madison also said that she would like to try tennis with Ben. Happy about that. We will have to sign them up for the next round.
