At 2 o'clock I couldn't sleep, so I just laid there quietly for the next 90 minutes trying not to move too much so Scott wouldn't wake up. Around 3:30am I decided I would go to the bathroom then maybe watch some tv downstairs. I went to the bathroom and when I stood up my water broke. Didn't know what had happened, I was a little hesitant to tell Scott in case I had just wet myself. But as more kept coming out I walked over to Scott and woke him up. He usually is a very slow riser, but he popped out of bed and quickly started moving around. We woke Madison up at 4:30am when we left for the hospital so she could watch the other kids for a bit. Told her Scott would be back home around 5:30am.
As we went to the hospital we were talking how we both thought this would be a boy. When we got to the hospital, even though I had pre-registered, I had to register. As the lady asked me my work address, Scott's work address, phone numbers, etc. all I could think was 'really??'. Couldn't they get that information later? Oh well, it was her chair that had a big puddle on it when I left. After verifying that my water had broke Scott went home to take the kids to the Craig's, and I got hooked up to monitors and IV's.
Around 8am the nurse said the doctor had a C-section at 9am so after she finished with that it would be my turn. The doctor came in around 10:15am and said it was my turn. Got everything set up to start pushing. The baby never dropped before labor started, and with each push it would pop back up into my rib cage. The nurse started pushing down on my stomach so that the baby wouldn't be able to go back up. After about 5-6 sets of pushes the baby was born. I looked at the baby and couldn't believe that it was a girl- Macy. She never really cried, but was awake so had 8 then 9 apgar. Macy had some fluid in her lungs so they had to suction her twice (which led to 2 days of throwing up mucus). She weighed in at 8 lbs 3oz, 21.25 inches long, blue eyes, brown hair, very long fingers and toes.
Welcome to the world Macy!
