Train Park

The kids having been waiting to go to the train park all month, and finally the weather cooperated enough for them to go. We started the day by eating breakfast at IHOP since my parents wouldn't be in town for New Year's Day. Everyone looks forward to that tradition. Ben actually branched out and didn't get a smiley face pancake for the first time. Megan and Blake still got the smiley faces, and Madison got her usually rooty tooty with strawberries.

That night Scott and my parents took the kids up to McCormick Railroad park to ride the Christmas train and Merry-go-Round. This year we got there a little early and bought our tickets before the afternoon train shut down. Good thing too since the ticket line was very, very long by the time the lights turned back on. They were on the third train that left to see the lights. Scott said the train line went all the way to the main street and was about one and a half hours long. Glad they went early.
