Chair

Madison (and Megan) have been wanting new chairs to go with their desks. I have gone to a few stores and looked at the selection of desk chairs and was unimpressed- or I would sit down and the chair would start shocking me. I don't like that. So, I have had it in my head that Scott could build one. I shared the idea with Scott and he said he would need to see the plan first. I went onto my favorite (free) wood plan site and found the perfect chair:

I could buy it for $300 (at least the website offered free shipping), or we could try to build it ourselves. We went to Lowes and bought the supplies last Saturday ($25 with material leftover for Megan's) and Scott went to work cutting and nailing. Total build time= less then 2 hours. I put the first coat of paint on it this morning. Scott wanted it painted white, but Madison said she would love to have a blue chair for her desk. So, had to honor the birthday girls wish.

Now I just have to add more wood filler (and sand), do a second coat of paint and seal the chair for an awesome birthday gift for Madison. She doesn't know that she is getting the chair, but I am not worried since she doesn't read the blog.
