Scott has been wanting to take everyone a hike for a long time. Since he was off work on Veteran's Day and the kids didn't have school, it was a perfect time to go. Marita came over to watch Macy, and the rest of us headed out for a hike. Scott chose the trail which was about 2 miles each way. Off we started with Madison and Ben in the front, Megan and I in the middle, and Scott and Blake in a far back. We were a little worried that Blake wouldn't make it all the way, but we kept going. The trail was a bit rocky, and Megan didn't really like the stink bugs that popped up along the way, but the weather was perfect for a hike. After 2 hours Megan and I gave up and sat on a big rock to eat lunch, the rest of the group (including Blake) pressed on and made it to the top.
After Megan and I ate lunch we headed back down. We sang for a bit on the way down, until a lady came up behind us and said how pretty we sounded. After that we just talked. It seemed to take forever to get back down, Madison and Ben showed up 15 minutes after us, and Scott and Blake 5 minutes behind them. I think Megan and I took our sweet time going down since everyone else had a 30 minute additional hike to the top that we didn't do. Next time we might go faster. No, next time we will pick a shorter hike.
