The Big 3-Oh

Today was Amy's birthday. It was a big and eventful day. It all started last night with dessert - Village in pies, yum! Then when everyone was in bed, I secretly put up decorations that Jen had sent in honor of the big day. She cut out dozens of black hearts and had black streamers with black balloons. Getting the picture? Very appropriate color to acknowledge the advanced age! The decorations were greatly appreciated so many thanks to Jen for the great idea and planning.

So early in the morning everyone got up and see the surprise and it was a good time. I made sure Amy went outside to get the paper since I had put up many of the black hearts there for all the neighborhood to see.

After that we opened presents including denture cream from Jen along with some real gifts that Amy really liked. My big gift was new cookware that she has been hinting at for sometime.

Last but not least, though it was her birthday, it did not spare her from going to school. She still had to go (thus the early dessert last night since she gets back late) but her class surprised her with a huge cake and brownies. No other student in her class has had their bday celebrated like they did for Amy. Everyone signed a nice card for here and pitched in for a nice gift. Amy works hard and is very well respected and admired by her classmates.

And we love her too. Happy birthday! You deserve so much more! Welcome to your 4th decade of life ;-)

Happy 30!!! I wish that I had some great advise on how to deal with being 30, but from my month of experience with it, all I've had are aches and pains. LOL!

I'm glad you had a nice day...and Scott...you did good!
