I love holidays: sleeping in (not Scott, he had to work), slowly getting ready for the day by 9:30am, no lunches to pack... Although I do think that schools have way too many holidays and half-days, I was glad for a little break in the routine. Madison wasn't feeling well (Kidney Infection) so she elected to stay home this year while we spent a few hours at the farm down the street. Superstition Farms opens to the public every year and lets us have a free tour. In years past the kids have had a free lunch at the farm also. Recession is everywhere, including the farm, so the lunch is no longer free. Laurali and I decided we were not going to pay $1.50 for a cheese crisp or $3.50 for a hot dog, but we did pay $5.00 for 2 SMALL scoops of ice cream. Not sure if that was worth the price. After the kids ate their ice cream we walked by the sno-cone stand where we could have bought sno-cones for 50 cents!! Oh well, will remember that for next year.
While we were there the kids had fun with: feeding goats, hay maze, and a hay ride around the farm. Not worth the $9 normal admission, but since it was free for the day I can't complain since the kids had a great time.
Ben didn't want any pictures of just him, so most of the time he tried to hide behind Nolan.
