Halloween

Happy Halloween- a day late. We had a great Halloween weekend. Friday was the ward trunk-or-treat. A few people really decorated their trunks, but we choose to not decorate. We made up for the undecorated trunk by handing out butterfingers and kit-kats. I didn't hear any complaints from the kids.

Saturday night the kids walked the block with Scott. I sat outside in my lawn chair handing out candy to the kids who walked by. I had taken 5 of our pumpkins outside with me and EVERYONE said how great they were. A few people even pulled out their camera's and snapped pictures. Crazy. Blake stopped trick-or-treating after a few minutes, Megan and Madison made it an hour, Ben lasted 90 minutes. I was really surprised at the number of teen-agers out this year, without a costume, going trick or treating.

After the kids got home they picked out their 21 (3 pieces a day for 7 days) favorites and gave the rest to me. We will take the leftover candy to school this week and donate it to the kids classes. The one year we didn't donate the candy we were still eating the leftovers past Thanksgiving- everyone gets tired of it.

Now that Halloween is over we are really looking forward to Thanksgiving (really the day after Thanksgiving for me) and the start of the Christmas season.
