Disney Day 6

Our last day spent at DisneyWorld was at Magic Kingdom. We were at the bus stop by 7am- but the bus didn't get there until 7:30am. So early- the sun wasn't even out yet. The kids were troopers though, they didn't seem to mind the early wake up call since it meant we would be heading to Disney. The plan was to head to Big Thunder Mountain right when we walked into the gate. Our plans hadn't been working most of the trip and this day was about the same. Big Thunder was closed for repairs so we needed to quickly re-think our strategy and we headed to Space Mountain. Then came Tomorrow land speedway, splash mountain, Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean (a great ride to nurse a baby on), Big Thunder (finally open), and Haunted Mansion all before lunch. Crazy! By that time we were all tired and stopped for lunch and then to split off for a bit. Then came Buzz Lightyear, and pictures with the princesses. Several of our girls were a little to excited in the line and tried to hop into another families pictures. Can't blame them, that is what was on the 'must do' list. Then we headed back to the hotel early for dinner before heading to the Electric Light Parade that night. Blake wasn't feeling very well so he, Scott, and Macy all stayed at the hotel instead of going to the parade. My Mom went to the park a little early and found us some great seats right at the start of the parade. Once the parade started Grace started dancing. This caught the attention of some of the characters because the White Rabbit came over for a bit, then Alice in Wonderland asked Grace about the flower in her hair, and a mouse from Alice asked Grace to scratch his ear. So much fun.

After the parade we went and rode on Winnie the Pooh (Megan's fav) and watched the fireworks show. That was really awesome- so much noise, huge fireworks, music, disney magic= spectacular. After the show ended we walked right on to small world. I think there was only about 20 people in that building. My Mom gave all of us penny's to throw into the water and make a wish. Well, I held onto my penny and during the ride threw a few trying to land on certain characters. My Mom thought that was a good idea and threw on straight in front of us. It hit a man's head in the boat ahead of ours. That ended the throwing of pennies.

Next we headed over to Splash Mountain. Not everyone wanted to get wet at 11pm at night so the younger girls along with Mom and Jen headed over to Aladdin. Madison, Ben, and I rode Splash Mountain. Ben sat in front hoping to get wet. Madison and I sat behind him and shared a jacket that could keep us covered. Madison and I practiced covering up with a jacket a few times so we would be ready to duck and cover right after the ride takes a picture, but right before getting hit with water.

After the last rides we headed back to the hotel. While on the bus the song 'Sweet Caroline' came on, and since many others were singing, Jen and I started singing. After getting off the bus Madison said that she could hear me singing all the way in the front of the bus (don't really think she did). Such a fun song.

During our trip we didn't really appreciate the Disney rules for scooters and the people riding them. Scooters were loaded first, then the people riding them and their family, then other people. That is all fine- but usually we would wait in the bus line for 15 minutes before the bus came and just as the bus pulled up the scooters would make it to the line and not have to wait. The last morning while we waited for our bus a kid came up driving the scooter and went to the head of the line. He looked at us and said, "don't worry, the scooter isn't for me. It is for the man walking back there". At least that was a good laugh.
