Day 6 & 7

We woke up early (7am) and quickly packed up and started our drive to Winter Park, Colorado.  We stopped in Denver at Costco to buy some food for our next leg of the trip.  Going to Costco on the day before a holiday is not a good idea.  The store was packed with people.
We arrived in Frasier/Winter Park around 2pm, located the rental house, and quickly settled in to our room.  It was a great room:  walk in closet that Blake slept in, lots of floor space for Macy to sleep, Large bathroom area that Ben slept in, and a king sized bed.  After sleeping on full-sized mattresses at each hotel we were glad to have some room to stretch out.  The rest of Scott's family arrived throughout the afternoon and evening. Always good to see everyone and catch up on how the family was doing.
The next morning, Wednesday, we went on a little hike by the house.  Blake made it his goal to be the first one to finish the 3 mile hike, so he and I walked/jogged together.  I'm pretty sure Blake is the best person to hike with.  He never stopped talking.  Plus, he wanted to finish first- thats my kind of a goal.  We finished about 10 minutes before the next group of family members.  Scott prefers to look at the scenery, so he was good to walk with Macy.
After the hike we headed back to the house to enjoy the hot tub- which the kids used as a swimming pool-, and then we headed to the Winter Park resort to go down the alpine slides.  Blake was so nervous as we sat on the chair lift going up the mountain.  Not sure he relaxed until he was back down the mountain.  I rode behind him and had to encourage him to go a little faster down the hill.
After dinner we went to watch the fireworks.  We placed a blanket on the ground and sat for about 30 minutes waiting for the show to start.  After 30 minutes the show hadn't started and we were getting cold so we walked back to our car.  About halfway there the fireworks started so we just watched from our car.  Macy wasn't enjoying the noise, she wanted to be in the car buckled into her carseat.  The show only lasted about 10 minutes, then we went back to the house to go to bed.
