Day 8 & 9
Friday- what did we do Friday? This is what happens when you wait too long to write down memories- they are forgotten. We went swimming in the hot tub, the kids played outside and set up a tent to play in. We attempted to go to a movie, but it was sold out. We then rented a tandem bike and a bike with a trailer and went on a few bike rides. It was pretty funny watching the kids try to ride a tandem bike. I almost thought Madison was going to fall down, but she recovered and was a quick learner. Macy and Blake enjoyed riding in the trailer behind a bike. Scott and I got a work out pulling them up the hill. To get to the house Scott and Ben, and Melinda's husband Jeff had to ride up a really steep road with the bikes. I am impressed that they made it, it isn't a hill I would even want to walk up.
A talent show? of sorts was put on by super silly kids. Then Macy and I went to bed. She hadn't felt well that afternoon, a little fever, so we didn't want her outside playing. Scott and the rest of the kids headed outside to do a night hike.
Saturday morning everyone left. Melinda and Emily were gone by 7, Susan by 730, and the rest of us by 930. We drove to Albuquerque, New Mexico to spend the final night of our trip. We had dinner at Blake's Lottaburger. We had ate there a year earlier on our way back from Wisconsin, but at the time Macy was really sick so we didn't enjoy the food. Also on that trip Scott had ordered the chile burger and didn't care for all the heat. This time everyone was feeling great, and the food was excellent. Blake really enjoyed eating at 'his' restaurant.
Back at the hotel we watched fireworks from our bedroom window. They were set off after the ballgame across the street ended. I watched from bed while also watching HGTV and the FOOD network before we headed home to our no 'cable tv' house.
