Blake is now 1 year and 1 week. Today he finally took his first steps. Scott, Madison, and Ben were witness to them. After Scott went to work I was able to get Blake to take another 4 steps for me. The trick? He loves ties, and so I dangled it to him while he walked. He is also getting another tooth, so that makes two. Right now he is taking a nap. It is the best time of the day!

Scott went on a trip (i.e. vacation) this week to Philadelphia to speak at a conference. He was able to see the liberty bell, really old buildings, and I think the highlight was being able to see the steps that Rocky ran in the movies. Too bad Scott didn't get to run them also.

This week was also my first week at the Hospital. My group gets to go to Banner Thunderbird way over on 59th Ave and Thunderbird. It was really interesting to see the shortcuts RN's take from what you learn in school. The 8 hours flew by. I got to see pitting edema, a patient throwing up about a dozen times, jaundice, oh yeah- naked people. Oh, and one guy coded on the floor. I was a little disappointed that no one needed a catheter since that is what I had been practicing in class. Maybe next week.
