Ben is 8!!!

I can't believe Ben is 8. I have spent the past week thinking about his short life up to this point, and can't believe how fast it has gone by. Ben is proud to say he is an Oregonian- even though he only lived there for 10 days. I think he likes that because it makes him different. I remember that for the first 6 months of his life he didn't like to sleep laying down. His preferred sleeping arrangement was being held. The moment we would lay him down he would start to wiggle and stretch, and of course wake up. Even though he says he is not, he still loves to be cuddled. Ben was always busier then Madison. He loved to jump off the couch or the table, he learned how to climb in and out of his crib (the only child of ours who ever did), on his second birthday he was on the park swing (normal kid one) being pushed higher then the old kids.

Ben is brilliant- he can quote movies, books, tv shows, etc.. His favorite books are non-fiction (I am sure he gets that from Scott) books about space, bugs, wars. His favorite shows are Animal planet, How Things Work, Survival Man, and any other information show. He loves Star Wars, the Wii, and all things legos. He unfortunately has my sweet tooth, and I have caught him lately with candy wrappers in bed, standing on the cupboard searching for a sweet snack, and only eating his sweet things at lunch time.

This past year he has done really well with swimming and basketball. This spring we will start baseball again. Ben has been really excited about turning 8 and going to scouts and getting baptized. Ben adds so much to our family- most of it is good. We love Ben.

Amy, you only post about your kid's painful experiences or birthdays. We still care about YOUR life too!
