Today is my birthday. The big 31- really doesn't feel any different then the past 10 or so. This year my birthday fell on a Thursday so it makes it more difficult to go out. Today is curriculum night for the kids school from 5-8pm, so I get to celebrate by attending that by myself. Scott brought home Chipolte and pizza for dinner. Then after we had cupcakes from Coldstone- yum. I received some great gifts for my birthday: a necklace from Madison, candy from my visiting teachers, Vickie, and Megan, headbands from Laurali, and Scott gave me a pan, pepper grinder, and a gift card to amazon. I also got a plane ticket to Denver from my Mom and Dad, and candles and candy from other friends.
What can I say about myself? Perhaps I should write a bunch of lies, for example: I am a great person, busy keeping up with the kids and all their activities, looking for a job that will utilize my nursing skills, and still enjoying being music leader at church. I could very easily over-inflate everyone's perception of me by saying for example: I am attempting to build up my food storage and go to the temple on a monthly basis (finally hitting that goal), and working with Ben on his scouting goals and with Madison on her Faith in God book. But I don't like to talk about myself so I won't say all that. I will say that 31 is a lot younger to me now then it was when I was 20. I am far from perfect, but I am happy with who I am.
I have been wondering at what age do I need to give up cotton/denim pants and move to polyester. Is there a set date, say 65 where you no longer can shop in stores like American Eagle, New York and Co, and even Target. Instead you need to shop at Everything Polyester and start perming your hair. What is that age because that is the age I most fear. Hopefully by the time I reach that milestone polyester will be considered a bad word and their will be cute denim/cotton pants for all us Grandma's. But I do think I have awhile before I get there--Luckily.
Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday Amy, you just keep growing younger every day!
I hope the polyester is eliminated in 34 years. Glad we are the same age for another month!
